Grant Funding and Program Management for Unity Health System

Al Kinel Al Kinel led efforts for Unity Health System (Unity) to apply for and win several grants worth over $7 million to implement Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) and process changes to improve care, establish an infrastructure to improve the performance of the health system, and to enhance the way in which providers and administrators collaborate. Unity provides acute and long-term patient care, senior housing, laboratory services, and community outreach to residents in Rochester, NY, and surrounding counties.

Santa Fe Medical Group and Atrinea Health - The Medical Home Initiative

O’Brien led the owner of this 8-practice medical group and his management team through a structured brainstorming and strategy development process to create a "roadmap" for the business. A key objective was to identify areas for growth of the existing practices as well as to provide a conceptual foundation for a new practice model embracing the Medical Home concept.
